Directions to the Old City Cemetery
from the
Blue Ridge Parkway


  1. Take Rt. 501 SOUTH towards Lynchburg

  2. Pass through Big Island and Coleman Falls (some parts of this mountain road are very curvy)

  3. Once in Lynchburg, Rt. 501 SOUTH becomes Boonsboro Road

  4. Turn LEFT onto Boonsboro Road at first stoplight and intersection with Lynchburg Expressway

  5. Follow Boonsboro Road for 6 miles (Boonsboro Road will become Rivermont Avenue)

  6. Cross bridge over Blackwater Creek

  7. Turn RIGHT at stoplight onto Fifth Street

  8. Follow Fifth Street for 10 blocks to Taylor Street (pass Jackson, Polk, and Monroe Streets as you approach Taylor)

  9. Turn RIGHT onto Taylor Street (follow black and gold sign for “Old City Cemetery”)

  10. Follow Taylor Street for 1 block to Cemetery entrance gates—Taylor Street becomes Cemetery driveway
