This year's calendar includes a new year-long Pollinator Series, which invites visitors to see pollinators in action, learn why pollination is important, and explore Cemetery gardens designed to attract these hard-working creatures. Pollinator Series events are denoted by a "bee" symbol.   Pollinator Series

February 20 Maple Syrup Tapping   Pollinator Series
By tapping the Cemetery's great sugar maples, participants will learn how sap is made into syrup and the importance of pollinators in the process.

April 20 Garden Day in Lynchburg
The Cemetery's gardens will be a showcase of spring beauty. Enjoy dogwood, redbud, lilac, peony, and other shrubs in bloom.
 
May 5-6 3rd Annual Garden Symposium
Speakers will discuss a variety of gardening topics—all focused on a "before you buy" theme to help you choose with confidence the right item to plant. Attendees will learn everything from propagating and planting to pruning and troubleshooting perennials, grasses, boxwood, apples, and, of course, roses. May 2-8 Antique Rose Festival Week   Pollinator Series
Celebrate the Antique Rose Festival's 15th anniversary with week-long activities including workshops, lectures, and walking tours—all leading up to the festival on Saturday, May 8th, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
 
May 30 Confederate Memorial Day Service
Sponsored by Kirkwood Otey Chapter No. 10, UDC
Period dress encouraged!

May 31 Annual Memorial Day Bird Walk & Count   Pollinator Series
Join members of the Lynchburg Bird Club as they continue their tally of species sightings during this period of peak bird population. Bring binoculars. Rain or shine.
