The Southern Memorial Association is looking for a new Administrative Manager for Old City Cemetery. The position is full-time (35 hours) with benefits. If you enjoy history or horticulture, working with dedicated and caring volunteers, and the excitement of a workplace where every day is different, this job is for you!

The Administrative Manager provides general office administration and management. Responsibilities include communication, finances, funeral and memorial arrangements, recordkeeping, and the Gift Shop. Please see the Job Description below for more details.

About Old City Cemetery

Old City Cemetery is a unique 27-acre public garden on the edge of downtown Lynchburg. It is the City’s most visited historic site, with over 33,000 visitors each year. They enjoy four museum buildings, fascinating stories from local history, a lotus and goldfish pond, beautiful antique roses and flowering shrubs, and a famous tree swing. Although the Cemetery is still open for burials and memorials, it also offers a busy schedule of school tours, nature walks, workshops, theater performances, and concerts throughout the year. The Cemetery’s Bicentennial Chapel has become a popular wedding venue. Lynchburg’s “gravegarden” is truly unlike any other cemetery!
