or the first time in generations, the streets of downtown Lynchburg will be filled with a procession of mourners accompanying a hearse and coffin to the City's old public burying ground.

A brass band playing 19th-century funeral marches will lead a diverse assemblage of citizens, horses, carriages, and automobiles from Court Street to the Old City Cemetery. This special "funeral parade," which celebrates the Cemetery's bicentenary (1806–2006), is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome to participate and encouraged to join the fun.
