Join OCC Historian Michael Hudson on this tour through the Cemetery that explores the origins of our Christmas traditions and imagery – but through the historical experiences of our residents. Learn how popular symbols of the Season came to be part of our modern Yuletide celebration: Santa Claus, candy canes, Putz Houses, egg nog, mistletoe, and so many others.
This tour involves a three-quarters mile walk around the Cemetery over uneven ground and standing for most of a one-hour period. Guests with mobility issues are asked to use discretion. Those touring will be asked to sign a waiver to participate.
Tickets cost $5 per adult. Tour begins at the Cemetery Center. While there, enjoy our Open House whilst waiting for the tour to begin.
