Author Charles E. Driscoll, M.D., will be signing copies of his book Ring The Fire Bell! -  The Incredible Story of an Iowa Civil War Medical Center. This book tells the stories of a small  quiet riverside town's medical community in Keokuk, Iowa, that became a major Union hospital town and convalescence center. The fire bell was rung to announce the arrival of injured soldiers, who had been transported up the Mississippi from the horrors of the Civil War battlefield. Come meet the author in his Union Army Surgeon…

Free Blacks of Lynchburg, 1805-1865
