The Federal Transient Bureau Fire of 1934 was the single worst tragedy, in terms of loss of life, in the history of Lynchburg. KINFOLK is a local acoustic string group featuring Tony Wright on guitar, Lisa Vogel on mandolin, and Elle Simmons on fiddle.  Their musical genre is "Americana " which consists of  American roots music styles including bluegrass, folk, country, blues and gospel. Sons of the American Revolution & War of 1812, Plaques Dedication

 The Sons of the American Revolution and War of 1812 Society will hold a ceremony to dedicate two 3’x2’ bronze plaques in the Cemetery's First Acre.  The two societies have researched and identified 16 Revolutionary War soldiers and 47 veterans of the War of 1812 who were buried  here. Color Guard in Revolutionary War attire will offer a 3 volley gun salute.
