Obituary and Biographical Detials

Lynchburg newspaper (not sure which one; around January 20, 1932), page 9:

Wood Alcohol Causes Four Deaths In Week
Wood alcohol poisoning caused four deaths here last week and a fifth viction [sic–victim] from drinking the fluid remains in a critical condition at Lynchburg Hospital. All were Negroes.

The fourth death reported was that of George Brown, 37, 1136 Lanier street. He died Monday and it was learned yesterday the cause was wood alcohol. All the victims are supposed to have taken part in a drinking party last Sunday.

Edward Johnson, the man now in Lynchburg Hospital, has improved slightly but his sight has been impaired. Attendants said he is unable to see at times.
