Lynchburg’s Famous Fourth Street

Join local historian Nancy Jamerson Welland for an introduction to Lynchburg's infamous 20th-century red light district on Tinbridge Hill.  The program will conclude with the unveiling of a painting of Fourth Street in its heyday by artist Phillip Carwile commissioned by Old City Cemetery. Event co-sponsored with Jones Memorial Library.  Free and open to the public.

No experience is required, but potential Old City Cemetery volunteers should have a love of history, historic preservation, or horticulture, and enjoy working with the public. The Cemetery needs volunteers who are able to share their time and talents as tour guides or gardeners.  Please attend a Friday, March 2nd or Saturday, March 3rd information session for more details.

“Emerald Ash Borer Treatment Demo”
