September 13: Holbrook Lyceum Lecture Series, join Drs. Clifton and Dorothy Bundy Potter for a presentation on the Revolutionary production and publication of the Lynchburg 250th Anniversary commemorative book “A Good and Pleasant Company.” The Drs. Potter will also be hosting an autographing session. Please RSVP to occ@gravgarden.org, as seating in limited. 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm in the Chapel at Old City Cemetery.
September 26: Join Ashleigh Bruce from 12-2 for our living history program, ‘Sewing Through the Centuries,’ for a discussion on the history of sewing and embroidery, where you can also create your own embroidery sampler! Through the art of the needle, you will get to experience a bit of the historic importance behind this skill. Sewing supplies will be provided. $50/person with limit of 10 participants. December 4 – January 1: NEW! Grand Illumination: A Night of Light, History, and Community at Old City Cemetery. Step into a magical evening at Lynchburg’s historic Old City Cemetery for the Grand Illumination, a unique seasonal celebration that transforms the 27‑acre “Grave Garden” into a glowing tapestry of history, horticulture, and community SPIRIT. 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm nightly. A donation of $10/car is respectfully requested.
