Lynchburg’s beloved Candlelight Tours are back at Old City Cemetery Museums and Arboretum for the 15th year in a row! This year’s cast and characters promise a night to remember as they guide our guests by flickering flame among the gravestones, illuminating Lynchburg’s past. Led by your heritage interpreter, with plenty of stories of their own, you’ll meet five real-life Old City Cemetery “residents” and hear the fascinating tales of their lives — and deaths. You’ll also enjoy live music by the talented Jim Robertson, and a special performance by Temeka Younger, who will be singing an original song composed by James Ballard, specifically for our 2022 Candlelight Tours.
Tour Schedule: 3 weekends in October starting Oct. 6th:

We do ask that all participants be at least 8 years of age. The Candlelight Tours require walking over uneven terrain, and lengthy periods of quiet. The content deals with mature topics such as slavery and death. We love when children are interested in our local history! However, we do ask that they come prepared to remain quiet during performances so that everyone in the tour can enjoy the show.
