On June 2, 2006—exactly 200 years after the first deed to Cemetery property was recorded in the Lynchburg Hustings Court—this historic marker was unveiled at the Cemetery entrance. It is an official “Virginia Historical Highway Marker,” authorized by the Virginia Department of Historic Resources.
